The presentation was given by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and included a discussion on Wildlife Forensics. Students were required to work together on an inquiry-based activity that required them to use their analytical skills to examine different mammal skulls. The NYSDEC monitors wild mammal populations and uses these skills to help scientists better understand Long Island’s ecosystem. Students are eager to see the presenter return in May to discuss various Human Impacts on Environment.
