The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and QualityMonday saw the lifting of the water contact closure at the Coronado shoreline.

This includes beaches from Avenida Lunar, Coronado, North Beach, Coronado. According to the DEHQ water quality testing, recent results have shown that Tijuana river flows are no longer affecting these beaches.

Due to sewage-contaminated flows coming from the Tijuana River, the United States, the area was closed to water contact.

Officials stated that the ocean shoreline between the International Border and the north end Silver Strand State Beach will remain closed until water sampling confirms that these areas are safe for contact.
