COVID-19 cancels Cochrane’s environment convention

Bighorn M.D. Announcement of Living in the Natural Environment event was cancelled due to the highly transmissible Omicron variant.

COVID-19 has stopped the Municipal District of Bighorn from hosting its environmental event for the 2nd consecutive year. 

The M.D. The M.D. announced that the Living in the Natural Environment event, originally scheduled to take place at the Cochrane RancheHouse on February 4, would be cancelled.

This time though, it was the rapid spread of the highly transmissible Omicron variant that prompted the decision. 

The annual event has been a popular gathering of 100-150 people from the community, government, and non-agricultural residents. It covers a wide range of topics. 

Previous topics include climate change and forest biodiversity.
