Don't miss your chance to apply for the Environmental Champions grant - Port Arthur News

The Port Arthur News website has the latest information about the 2022 Environmental Champions Initiative.

Port Arthur LNG and The News teamed up to launch the initiative. The grants will be awarded up to $50,000 to local non-profit organizations that are involved in programs or efforts to improve the environment in Port Arthur and Sabine Pass.

Grants will be awarded between $1,000 and $5,000.

Kelly Prasser is the Senior Manager of External Affairs for Sempra LNG and stated that environmental stewardship was a top priority for her company.

Ideal projects include beautification and restoration. The grants can also be used for educational programs or field trips for students in grades Kindergarten through Eight.

March 15th will be the last day for applications

The News has assembled a panel to review all applications and choose the grant recipients by the week of February 21st.

The award reception will take place the week of April 4 at the companies.
