ORLANDO, Fla., May 13, 2022/PRNewswire/: Don’t wait until you enter Florida Realtors Annual Environment Award program. Or you might be green with ENVY once the winner is selected. The “ENVY Award”, also known as the “ENVY”, is given to the development that preserves the environment. Florida’sNature is a quality of life

The award can be given in one of two categories: residential development or commercial development.

Summit East Technology Park was the latest winner. This 117-acre development is a commercial development. TallahasseeFlorida Realtors’ 24th ENVY award was presented to, Designed in harmony Florida’sThe project demonstrated green building practices and natural resources.

Summit East Technology Park can be found at the intersections of Interstate 10 and Highway 90. These are major traffic corridors in eastern Michigan. Leon County, Fla.The founder of the project. Rick KearneySummit officials said that he was committed to creating an environmentally friendly and “green” community. However, he also wanted to create a place for businesses to use the latest technology.

Judges praised the development for being a “comprehensive and green development that exemplifies what it means to establish an environmentally conscious framework during the planning and design stages.”

Among the past ENVY Award recipients are: Oakland Park, Baldwin Park, Verandah, Lakewood Ranch, Wild Heron and Harmony, World Golf Village, Solivita, Amelia Island Plantation Viera.

Each category’s winner will be presented with a Lucite trophy and recognition at the Florida Realtors annual Convention and Trade Expo. Aug. 24-25, 2022, and statewide media coverage Florida’sTop environmentally conscious builder. The competition is judged by a panel of distinguished planning and environmental professionals. The deadline to submit entries is Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

ELIGIBILITY:All FloridaCommercial developments are eligible. All planned residential developments with at least 30 residential units are eligible. Florida qualify. The residential development must be available for marketing at the moment and must include a model house.

JUDGING CRITIES:Applicants must explain why their project exceeds current environmental preservation or building code minimum requirements for each criteria category. Photos, site plans, and other documents should be included to illustrate your points to the judges. Please provide a narrative that clearly demonstrates the development’s environmental features and preservation activities. This will help the judges to better evaluate your project. What is it that makes your project stand apart from others? What are you most proud about? Why should your development be awarded the Florida Realtors ENVY award? These are the things judges care about.

Commercial:(1) Preservation and preservation of natural flora & fauna; (2) Architectural compatibility. (3) Design in scale and context. (4) Open space, access/usability of the surrounding environment. (5) Streets and pedestrian access. (6) Marketability. (7) Drainage. (8) Marketability. 9) Tell us about what makes your project standout from the rest.

Residential: (1) Preservation of natural flora and fauna; a) Highlight any restoration areas or efforts; b) Include any corridors/buffer zones; c) Highlight wetlands areas; (2) Landscaping/compatibility with surrounding environment; (3) Design in scale and context with surrounding environment; a) Highlight and explain any specific “green” standards and/or certification standards endorsed by the project such as standards from the Florida Green Building Coalition, LEED-ND (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Neighborhood Development) standards or National Home Builders green building standards; (4) Open space and access/usability of open space; a) Highlight green space and unusual features; (5) Family recreation and common areas; a) Highlight special areas; (6) Streets and safety features; (7) Drainage and stormwater design features; a) Highlight any unique stormwater plans; (8) Marketability; and (9) Tell us what makes your project stand out from the rest what are you the most proud of?

SUBMISSION:There is no entry fee and there is no limit. You can email, send a flash drive, or mail the documentation in a 3-ring binder. The following information should be included in the entry: (1) A summary of the development (maximum 4 pages, typed, double-spaced remember it can also be scanned and sent to a PDF file); (2) Supporting material, photographs that address the judging criteria as listed above; (3) Any other supporting data including development plans, if necessary, but they are not required. After judging, entry materials can be returned upon request.
