2021 most violent and destructive weather year on record: Environment Canada

It was the most destructive and violent year in recorded history.

As Environment Canada’s senior climateologist, David Phillips releases the agencys report, he makes this judgment.Top 10 Weather Stories in 2021.

The top spot on the list was taken by the record-breaking heatwave which ravaged British Columbia this summer.

Number two was B.C.’s destructive rainstorms, which caused flooding and landslides last week.

Phillips claims that Canada hasn’t experienced a similar cycle of severe weather events in the 26 years that he’s been compiling this report. He believes it is a result of climate change.
