Some flurries, cold temperatures
This week, some arctic air will blow through Kamloops. The first few days in February will bring daytime lows of -5 C and snowfall.
Mike Gismondi is a meteorologist at Environment Canada. He said that the first part of this week will be cloudy and sunny.
“[Sunday night]We had a system go through, which gave some snow to the area. But today [Monday] we’re looking at just a mix of sun and cloud,” Gismondi said.
Environment Canada predicts Monday will be windy with temperatures reaching 2 C, and then dropping to -7 C overnight.
“A cooler trend is going to settle in as some arctic air follows the system for late Tuesday, Wednesday,” Gismondi said.
Environment Canada reported Tuesday night that it will drop to about 9 C. Wednesday will be the coldest day of week with highs around -5 C.
“There’s another system pushing in through the day Wednesday and Wednesday night. That will bring some cloud and a chance of flurries,” Gismondi said.
Environment Canada says temperatures will rise once more by the end the week.
With mostly cloudy skies, the daytime highs for Thursday will be -1 C and Friday at 3 C.
The weekend’s early outlook suggests milder weather may be on the horizon. Environment Canada predicts that Saturday’s high temperature will be at least 6 C.
