We expect temperatures to fluctuate around this normal for the next few weeks.

The forecast for Lethbridge’s early part of the week is for a high temperature of 15 degrees on Tuesday March 22nd and a low of 17 degrees Wednesday March 23rd.

WINTERTIRES

Hoffman suggested that drivers may be more inclined to remove winter tires due to warmer temperatures, but cautioned motorists to keep their winter tires off until at least Easter weekend.

This is the beauty of spring in Alberta. It can feel like winter is over. Then, the next thing you know, there’s 10 centimetres or more of snow and some pretty cold temps.

She advises drivers to keep their snow brushes in their vehicles and be ready for changing weather conditions.

If you’re driving or planning a trip, it’s going to be more important for the next few weeks to watch the weather forecast. It can change quite quickly now that it’s spring. You might start the day with very warm temperatures, or you might end it with a blizzard.

Hoffman stated that despite the warmer temperatures during the week’s early days, a cold front is expected on Thursday, March 24, despite the warmer temperatures. She explained that this could bring snow, rain, or a combination of both, and there is a possibility of snow accumulation in the Foothills.

Hoffman stated that it was important for Southern Alberta residents to remain weather-aware.
