Environment Canada: Hamilton, Ontario: Expected winds of 90 km/h Sunday

Environment Canada has issued a wind advisory for Hamilton, Brant and Burlington as winds are expected to reach 90 and 110 km/h Sunday morning/afternoon.

According to the national weather agency, Hamilton, Burlington, Brant could experience winds between 90-100 km/h, while Haldimand and Niagara could experience winds between 100-110 km/h.

The warning warns that “Strong southwest winds” will develop this morning or this afternoon in advance of a cold front moving through southern Ontario.

“Isolated thunderstorms can be observed along this cold front.”

It states that loose objects can be tossed in wind and people should be prepared to adjust their driving to accommodate wind.

According to Environment Canada, the wind could cause power outages in large areas but will subside by the evening.
