ENVIRONMENT CANADA
*************************
Weather advisory in effect for

  • Guelph-Erin – Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener – Cambridge Region of Waterloo
  • Mount Forest – Arthur – Northern Wellington County

Winter weather travel advisory in place

Hazards:
Snow in total amounts of 5-10cm
Visibility is reduced by blowing snow and short heavier snow.

When:
This morning through the afternoon.

Discussion:
Today will see a blanket of snow. Gusty southwesterly winds can cause snow drifts in exposed areas, as well as reduced visibility. The snow will gradually melt to scattered flurries and periods of drizzle later in the afternoon and into the evening.

Impacts:

Winter driving conditions are dangerous for motorists. Make sure to adjust your travel plans accordingly. Turn on your lights and maintain safe distance if visibility is reduced while driving. Sometimes visibility will drop to zero in heavy snow and blowing powder.
