Environment Canada issues a Special Weather Report for Highway 3 Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass

Environment Canada has issued a Special Warning Statement for Highway 3 Paulson Summit-Kootenay Pass because of late snowfall.

Environment Canada stated Monday that total accumulations will be between 15 and 20 cm starting Tuesday afternoon and continuing through Tuesday.

Environment Canada stated that a frontal system moving through British Columbia will bring late season snow to Rogers Pass and Kootenay Pass.

Midday (Monday): Light snow will start to intensify tonight.

The snow will recede to a few flurries Tuesday afternoon at Kootenay Pass, and Tuesday evening at Rogers Pass.

Environment Canada stated that weather conditions can quickly change at higher elevations, resulting in dangerous driving conditions.
