Environment Canada issues a winter travel advisory for Toronto

Environment Canada has issued a Winter Weather Travel Warning for Toronto. Snow is expected to begin falling tonight and continue overnight.

According to the weather agency, the city could see snowfalls of up to two to five centimetres by the time it begins to melt overnight.

This evening will experience the highest amount of snowfall. This could pose a problem for motorists or those who use public transit.

Environment Canada stated that accumulation of snow on roads untreated may affect travel.

Motorists are encouraged adjust their driving to meet changing road conditions.

Other areas in the GTHA that are affected by the advisory include the Hamilton, Halton Peel, York and Durham regions.
