Warmer weather is coming
Meteorologists predict Kamloops weather will warm as the week progresses — a welcome shift after the holiday weekend brought record-breakingLow temperatures in the province
Dave Wray is a meteorologist at Environment Canada. He says that while some showers are expected over Easter Monday, the week will end with sunshine and highs above 18 C.
“We’re going to be getting back up into the upper teens for daytime highs, and overnight lows around five. So we finally see a little bit of warmth again towards the end of the week,” Wray said.
Temperatures hovered at 0 C on Sunday night and Monday morning. Some areas may see frost patches.
Wray stated that Monday will be cloudy with a 40% chance for showers and a high temperature of 14 degrees.
“We’ve got a weak frontal system moving through, so we are expecting showers to develop through the day,” Wray said.
Monday night will see a low of 5 C, and rain.
“The good news is, [we’re] back into a mix of sun and cloud — mainly sunny conditions — for Tuesday and Wednesday, daytime highs of 15 C,” Wray said.
“Probably just a few spits of showers Thursday night, and then finally, as we get into Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it looks like a nice warm up.”
Friday is expected reach 18 C with a mix cloud and sun, and 5 C overnight, while Saturday is expected to reach 17 C.
