Snow squall watch in force for:

  • Barrie – Collingwood – Hillsdale
  • Midland – Coldwater-Orr Lake
  • Orillia – Lagoon City, Washago

Expect snow squalls to develop. The snow squall bands will cause visibility to be reduced significantly due to heavy snow combined blowing snow. Additionally, snow will quickly accumulate.

Hazard:
Snow and blowing snow can reduce visibility to nearly zero at times.
Snowfall can reach up to 15 cm
Wind gusts up 70 km/h

Timing:
From Saturday morning until Saturday night

Discussion:
On Saturday, snow squalls will be common. Visibilities may be reduced to zero by strong northwest winds gusting up to 70 km/h at times. Conditions will improve from Saturday night to Sunday morning.

Weather changes can make travel dangerous. Visibility can suddenly drop to near zero. Road closures are possible.

When conditions are favorable for snow squall watch, it is issued.
