Environment Canada warns that temperatures could be unusually low in Metro Vancouver

Over the next three nights, mercury will drop to a lower level in local thermometers.

Environment Canada released a statement this morning (February 21). Special weather statementMetro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Howe Sound are warning of “periods of unusually cold temperatures, strong outflow winds”.

Overnight, temperatures will drop to between -5 and -10 C.

This will continue into Wednesday night (February 23rd)

It’s caused by an arctic air mass landing on the B.C. coast.

Environment Canada stated that “the outflow winds will be strongest close to Howe Sound, Fraser Valley” “Light flurries may also be possible over Fraser Valley late tonight and early Tuesday morning.”
