He was the Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Sheikh Dr Faleh Bin Ahmed bin Ali al-Thani. He stressed that the National Sport Day is an important opportunity to encourage and motivate everyone to practice sports and make it an integral part of their daily lives due to the importance of sport in people’s lives and the building of healthy communities.
During his participation in several sporting events, organised jointly by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and Education City Golf Club, he stated that the creation of a National Sport Day in 2012 reflects the vision of the leadership in establishing and raising awareness of sport and its importance in our lives.
He stressed the positive effects of sports on human health, as well as in resisting and decreasing the effects of Covid-19 infection. This means that everyone should be enthusiastic about participating in sports activities throughout the year with the goal of fostering a sports generation that contributes towards the renaissance of our country.
HE Sheikh Faleh observed a complementary relationship between sport and environment. Both of these have beneficial effects for human health. The State of Qatar is making great effort to preserve elements of the environmental (air, soil, and water) and reduce their harmful effects on the human body.
He said that the State also pays a lot of attention to sports and encourages their practice. This unique event is an example of that interest. (QNA)
