Environmentalists, activist groups and others are pursuing Teslas Gigafactory Texas. The groups wrote to Mayor Steve Adler requesting that permits be withheld for the electric vehicle manufacturer, including the dedicated battery cathode facility at Giga Texas.

The groups claimed in a letter that the manufacturing of batteries at the Giga Texas complex would require a lot of water and chemicals.
