This could lead to the Formation of hazardous waste streamsAccording to the groups.

Tesla plans to build, in addition to their 4.2million square foot car factory, a toxic cathode battery plant along the Colorado River. This will be located near communities that don’t have access to adequate, affordable water. Meanwhile, the company plans to receive huge amounts of water for its industrial operations from the City of Austin. We count on you, our representatives to hold Tesla accountable to the public interest, before further harm is done for communities, the groups stated in their letter.

They also complained about Teslas. Construction of Giga Texas quicklyThis is in addition to the fact that Elon Musks’ company is still being built. Promised ecological paradise in the region. A social media campaign has been launched by some groups involved in this initiative.

Tesla has yet to engage with nearby residents and elected leaders have not been able to apply enough pressure to bring Tesla back to the table. Tesla was offered tax cuts worth millions of dollars from neighboring jurisdictions in exchange for its decision to move here two years ago. While the signed agreements and pronouncements mention many potential community benefits, they do not contain specificity or enforcement provisions.

We have observed that the company has cleared large swathes of trees, moved hundreds of dirt, filled ponds, and poured more than 100 acres of concrete for its plant. However, it seems that no priority was given to creating an ecological paradise on the riverfront. The group wrote that both neighbors and public officials are left wondering if the company will fulfill its verbal commitments or continue to operate without regard to environmental or social responsibility.
