Yasmin Fouad, Egyptian Minister of Environment, stressed the deep-rooted ties between Egypt, France, and reviewed with him the most recent environmental developments, climate change and biological diversity.
Fouad and Marc Barety, the French Ambassador to Cairo, were also represented by the French Chamber of Commerce and representatives from several French companies in Egypt.
In press statements, he noted that climate change has become an issue facing the entire globe.
Barety expressed appreciation for Egypt’s efforts to combat climate change and said that he was looking forward the upcoming climate summit (COP27).
The Minister of Egypt noted that Egypt’s hosting of the summit next years will allow for further negotiations about the responsibilities of developed nations.
She stated that a higher committee focusing on the climate summit will include an advisory group to facilitate participation by the private sector as well as civil society organizations in the preparations for the event.
The minister stated that the summit will offer all companies in the business sector the chance to get involved in climate-related activities and contribute to Egypt’s development and business processes in a more friendly environment.
Fouad also stated that the Ministry of Environment as well as the Ministry of Tourism work together to support Egypt’s environmental tourism.
