French environment minister requests EDF to audit nuclear availability| The Mighty 790 KFGO

PARIS (Reuters), The French Environment Minister Barbara Pompili requested EDF to conduct an audit on Friday of its nuclear power stations. They provide about 70% of the country’s electricity needs.

EDF announced Wednesday that it found faults in a nuclear power station and shut down a second plant using the same type reactors.

Pompili said that it had requested EDF to take additional measures to ensure France’s power supply.
