Trimble QuadriTrimble Connect and Trimble Connect provide ideal solutions for addressing the data requirements of building construction and railway construction, as well as preparing for maintenance and operation phases. The combined solutions are intended to facilitate collaboration between key stakeholders. They allow teams to share project data continuously as it federates company data into one consolidated, integrated system (the CDE). This allows for greater productivity and quality as well as a more accessible way to access project information from any place and any time. SNCF manages high-speed rail’s largest network. EuropeIt has a combined mileage of more than 30,000 kilometers and manages large portfolios of brownfield and greenfield projects. The corporate CDE will ensure digital continuity throughout all phases of design and construction, and prepare BIM data models to support operation and maintenance phases. This is expected to improve the overall company performance.

SNCF Rseau will use Trimble solutions across a wide range, covering all phases of the project lifecycle-design, construction, operations, and maintenance. Data sharing across teams reduces data loss risk and closes the gap in between engineering design tools, and systems for managing an organization’s transportation network.

Trimble Consulting manages the SNCF Rseau contract. This includes services such as strategic advisory, setup, implementation, and deployment of Trimble CDE across the project portfolio and across all divisions of SNCF Group. Trimble Consulting will integrate Trimble’s software solutions with SNCF Rseau’s core information systems, and provide coaching, training, and support.

Trimble Consulting is a global consulting firm that advises on advanced technology and integrated delivery strategies within Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Owner–operated (AECO). Trimble Consulting works closely with some of world’s most respected companies to deliver over 500 projects that are complex in technical, logistical and organizational terms.

“A global player like SNCF Rseau keeps expanding and updating its infrastructure. Railway systems are made up of many subsystems that have heterogeneous data. These data are created using many tools and processes. Having a common data environment that supports collaborative modeling for all of our digital assets, from design through project completion and ongoing maintenance, is crucial in digitizing the railway network effectively and efficiently,” Judical Dehotin, deputy Director of SNCF Rseau BIM Program, who is responsible for operational deployments of BIM on railway projects, said. “The combination of Trimble QuadriTrimble Connect allows us to review and manage all assets in a project’s scope. It has proven to be a valuable asset during and after projects are completed. Models and data from construction play an increasingly important role in long-term investment planning and lifecycle costs for railways.

“An open, common data environment is key to our strategic roadmap. We aim to establish collaboration among all project actors at planning, design, and construction phases and pave our way towards a virtual twin of our infrastructure,” said Pierre-Etienne GautierDirector of SNCF Rseau BIM and Digital Continuity Program. “Creating digital models and enriching them consistently through a secure, open CDE will allow us to operate our infrastructure to the highest standards throughout its entire lifecycle.”

“SNCF has chosen Trimble solutions for their foundation to increase the efficiency of their infrastructure projects. The Quadri technology and Trimble Connect technology allow owners, planners and engineers to securely share their discipline-specific models on a single platform. This facilitates close-knit collaboration between all project stakeholders. “All the while using their existing tool,” said Nassim SaoudTrimble Consulting’s EMEA director.
