As the calendar turns into May, the province begins to see plenty of sunshine.

Environment Canada’s Dan Fulton says the temperature highs this upcoming week are much higher than usual.

“(It’s) building up to 25, 28 on Thursday so definitely above normal,” Fulton said.

Fulton says that the average temperature at this time of the year is 16 degrees Celsius.

“Even getting close to records, records are around the 30-mark so getting up there, but dry. No (precipitation) in the forecast.”

Fulton says he feels for farmers who are desperate for rain to provide moisture.

“It gets worse as you move from Saskatoon and west basically. It looks like very dry conditions there, it gets a little bit better in the eastern part of the province,” Fulton said.
