Research and the Indoor Environment

Our health and well-being are directly affected by our social and physical environments. The way we interact and interact with the spaces within our lives can have a positive or negative impact on our health. Delos has been focusing its efforts on improving health and well-being in the places where we live, work and learn for the past ten years. We rely on scientific research, collaborations and subject matter experts to achieve this goal.

We do research in three main areas: scientific research, product development and evaluation, and translation with the aim of making it more widely known and educating the public.

Scientific Research and the Well Living Lab

Our scientific research aims to improve our understanding of indoor environments and human health, and to uncover new frontiers in the inter-disciplinary field of human-building interaction.

The Well Living Lab was founded by Mayo Clinic and Delos in 2016. It is a collaboration of building science and health sciences that conducts academic research on optimizing indoor environments for human well-being. It has published 21 studies. 18 peer-reviewed journalsIn scientific journals. The peer-review process exposes an author’s research for scrutiny by others who are experts within the same field (peers), and is considered necessary in order to ensure academic scientific excellence.
