An all-candidates forum on sustainability including Northumberland-Peterborough South provincial election candidates is the works for May 20 at 7 p.m.

If you’re wondering where Northumberland-Peterborough South provincial candidates stand on the climate crisis, there’s an all-candidates sustainability forum on May 20.

The forum will focus on the climate crisis, sustainable communities, urban sprawl, clean energy, biodiversity, and supporting Ontario’s workforce in the transition to a green economy, say organizers.

All residents are invited to join us May 20th at 7 p.m. in person at Venture13 (739 D’Arcy St., CobourgAccording to organizers, you can also use Zoom. Doors will open at 6:30 pm. Parking will be available at the rear.

A partnership of local community organizations is hosting the event to promote sustainability and environmental issues.

“Our next provincial government will determine Ontario’s actions in response to environmental, economic and social challenges, and will determine how sustainable our communities will be,” explains the group.

All candidates will be invited during the forum to respond to prepared questions by host organizations as well as questions submitted by attendees.
