NBA and Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal and his future with the organization has had an air of uncertainty around it. Beal stated that he was still being linked to a move from the team.
Beal spoke with Draymond Green on the Draymond Green Show about how he finds motivation in facing super teams. However, he also expressed his desire to be a part of the Green and Durant teams. Beal said:
“Like the USA team, that was one of the most fun experiences ever. It was amazing to be surrounded by so many elite men who give their all for the game of basketball. Trust and believe, I would love the opportunity to be around Steph, Dray, and KD and help them win.
“Who wouldn’t? It’s fun to compete against the team.
Bradley Beal also discussed how his decisions were affected by the Wizards’ lack of success over the years. Beal said:
“It has a drastic effect on you, bro. Maybe it’s my competitive spirit to change that, or maybe I need to let go of my head and get up. We all have that competitive spirit. We just want to do that. Everyone wants to win. That’s the goal.
Where does Bradley Beal go from here?
Beal’s current contract expires at the end of the 2022-23 season, at which point he will become an unrestricted free agent and can sign with anyone he wants. He is expected to make more than $36 million next year, and his annual earnings are just over $33 million. The deal for next season is a player option, so it is unclear if he has signed-in.
Beal’s priority is clearly winning the championship. Despite signing Kristaps porziis from Dallas Mavericks, the Wizards don’t seem to be moving closer towards the promised land.
The Wizards currently sit 12th in Eastern Conference and are not in contention for the championship. Beal has been repeatedly linked to a move to the Los Angeles Lakers or the Philadelphia 76ers.
Asked if its fair to say hes leaning towards re-signing with the Wizards, Bradley Beal nods. Thats fair.

If Bradley Beal does choose to sign with the Wizards in the summer of 2023, he is eligible for a five-year deal worth over $246 million. But if he opts to move away from the team and sign with someone else, then he is only eligible for a four-year deal worth over $179 million. It is a massive decision to make for Beal as his future hinges on whatever call he makes in the summer.
