Iwuanyanwu challenges the world’s leaders on climate change and environmental degradation

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (a renowned engineer) challenged world leaders about the urgent need to address climate change and environmental degradation that are ravaging humanity.

Iwuanyanwu, speaking to leaders and members at the Global Coalition for Sustainable Environment on Climate Change Mitigation (GCCSE) in Owerri Friday, stated that the situation demands urgent and immediate intervention from world leaders and their engineers in order to save the planet from extinction.

He said that climate change has been a serious threat to industrial, human and socio-economic development and that all experts in these areas must work together to find a permanent solution.

In a communiqu that was issued by the group, they stated that climate changes have had negative impacts on the global environmental system. They blamed excessive flooding, drought in some areas, land erosion, and other environmental disasters.

However, the group resolved to work with the United Nations Environment Programme and the European Union, Africa Climate Change Fund, Nigerian Federal Government, other foreign governments, multinational corporations, private sector, and other development partners in order to find solutions to the negative effects of climate change on humanity.

They agreed to the establishment of her corporation head offices in Nigeria’s federal capital, Abuja. There will also be branches in the United States, United Kingdom and Europe.

They are equally certain to gather Engineers, Scientists, as well as other professionals who share the passion to raise awareness of the many negative influences on our environment for the benefit of future generations.

This will reduce the negative effects on the environment’s three dimensions, air, water, and land. It will also help to create solutions and promote remedial actions that will improve the quality of the environment, which will lead to better health and well-being of all living organisms.

The group stated that the measures would promote the best sanitation and general health of the public, thus preventing widespread transmission.
