JICA and Cambodia discuss cooperation on the environment sector

Ministry of Environment launches training course on reducing plastic waste

Recent discussions between Japan International Cooperation Agency and Cambodia on cooperation in the area of environment have taken place.

The discussion took place at the ministry in Phnom Penh between Say Sam Al, Minister for Environment, and KameiHaruko, Chief Representative, JICA Cambodia Office.

According to JICA, the meeting was held on April 18, and both sides agreed to continue cooperation, exchange information, and discuss JICAs cooperation in environment sector, particularly on waste management and environmental protection.

JICA is currently implementing a Technical Cooperation Project (2020-2023), with the Ministry of Environment. This project aims to reduce forest degradation and deforestation through the formulation and implementation of policies and key measures for sustainable forest management and protected areas.AKP-Phal Suphanith
