  • Eliminating barriers like poverty and lack access as well as repairing systemic injustices are key.

Meaningful involvement means:

  • People have the opportunity to be involved in decisions that affect their environment or health
  • Decision makers want to facilitate the involvement of all those potentially affected
  • people’s concerns are considered in decision-making processes
  • People can influence the decisions of state agencies
