A Tri-Cities employer will soon vacate its Sullivan County office, as it did for many other countries during the pandemic.
According to Kate Patty, Agero’s public relations manager, Agero will close its Tri-Cities Contact Center at Blountville this spring. The office workforce will transition to remote work at 100%.
Krey Flanary, Ageros Tri-Cities site director, stated that over the past two years, our contact centers have shown day in and day out they are able and eager deliver exceptional service to clients remotely.
Flanary claims that Agero saw an increase in the desire to work remotely before COVID. The company was already attempting to create a semi-remote, flexible working model.
Flanary stated that the pandemic was a catalyst for this.

Within weeks, workers had moved to a more remote work environment.
Flanary stated that this included providing the equipment, IT, infrastructure, and professional support needed to get more than 550 associates up-and-running from home.
Flanary stated that the company has created resources to help workers who need help balancing work and home. They have also set up dedicated IT help channels and worked with associates to find ways to keep them engaged with their coworkers.
Flanary shared that it was easy to see that our associates were not only able to work remotely, but also enjoy the experience.
According to Patty, Agero was aware of the trend towards working from home before the pandemic.
Patty stated, “We knew that this was how the future of work was going.”
Patty explained that Agero plans to close its Blountville location and transition its Tucson, Arizona Contact Center, to full remote mode later in the year. The company’s Massachusetts headquarters will remain open. Its corporate office in San Francisco will continue to operate, while its Clarksville, Tennessee Contact Center will be operating on a hybrid basis.
These changes will not affect headcount in any way. Patty stated that she looks forward to more growth with a broader workforce in the U.S.
According to Patty Agero has approximately 500 employees in the Tri-Cities. Clarksville employs over 500 people.
Patty stated that Ageros Tri City’s landlord is actively looking for other tenants.
