Doha: H E Sheikh Faleh Bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani, Minister for Environment and Climate Change, honoured yesterday the distinguished environmental initiatives of governmental bodies that participated in Qatari Environment Day 2022.
This recognition was a reflection of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Changes’ belief in the importance of efforts to protect Qatar’s environment and its natural resources.
Yesterday, the Minister spoke to the press and stated that this recognition was all the ministry could do for bodies and individuals involved in environmental protection. He stressed the importance for society to participate in protecting the environment. This is in addition to the efforts of the ministry.
The Minister emphasized that the Qatari Environment Day raises public awareness about the importance of further efforts in this regard. Some of those recognized stated that they hope to be recognized for their efforts in protecting the natural environment. Since 1996, Qatar has celebrated the Qatari Environment Day on February 26th every year.
