Montrose Environmental Group buys Environmental Standards Inc.

Montrose Environmental Group has purchased Environmental Standards Inc. (a Valley Forge-based environmental consulting firm)

Environmental Standards was founded in 1987. It offers services in environmental chemistry, consulting geosciences and environmental data management. Auditing and health and safety support are also available. The firm serves clients in the oil and gas, utilities and chemical industries, mining, real-estate, landfills, and government sectors.

Environmental Standards employs over 100 people in offices throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maine and Virginia.

Montroses acquisition by Environmental Standards will help to boost the firm’s assessment, permitting, response segment.

Montrose’s addition of Environmental Standards will allow it to strengthen its chemistry and auditing services. This will add technical depth and new capabilities to our East Coast operations, said Joshua LeMaire (COO). Environmental Standards is a top-ranked environmental consulting firm in the country, and industry peers have recognized it. We are thrilled to welcome Rock and his entire Environmental Standards team to the Montrose family.

Montrose, an environmental consulting firm based in Little Rock, AR, employs more than 2,500 people at 75+ locations across the US, Canada, Australia, and elsewhere. The firm works with government and commercial clients on engagements that include air measurement and laboratory services as well as emergency response and permitting, engineering, remediation, and regulatory compliance.

Montrose’s extensive scientific and analytical capabilities, global footprint, and complementary services will allow us to strengthen our client relationships and create new ones in the core industries that we serve, Rock Vitale (CEO of Environmental Standards) stated. Montrose in April 2020 acquired CTEH, an Arkansas-based scientific consultancy specializing in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.
