Oro Station Motor Circuit achieves FIA environmental accreditation

The Federation Internationale de lAutomobile has awarded Oro Station Motor Circuit Environmental Accreditation. The FIA Environmental Accreditation program is designed to assist motorsport and mobility stakeholders around the world in measuring and improving their environmental performance.

One Star Certification is the FIA’s recognition of Oro Stations commitment towards sustainable management and environmental management. Oro Station will incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG), in the design of the facility. Upon completion of construction, Oro Station will be pursuing the FIA’s Three Star Accreditation.

This announcement marks the first circuit to receive accreditation under the FIA framework in North America.

Oro Station looks to a more sustainable future in both the facility operations and the automotive industry. Geoffrey Campbell is Oro Stations Managing partner. We want to set a global example in environmental stewardship that allows economic growth while also creating positive environmental impacts.

I would like to congratulate Oro Station Motor Circuit on being awarded Environmental Accreditation from the FIA. This is a tremendous achievement and a great example of an Ontario company investing clean technology to help deliver both economic and environmental opportunities, said David Piccini, Minister for the Environment, Conservation and Parks. It will make Ontario cleaner and more prosperous for generations to come by supporting innovation and investing in clean technologies.

Doug Downey MPP for Barrie Springswater Oro-Medonte said that the creation of a world-class motor-sport facility in Oro-Medonte has been a tremendous achievement for the sport’s future. This facility has been awarded the FIA Environmental Accreditation. It is truly remarkable. Oro Station Motor Circuit continues its demonstration that the future of motorsport and environmentalism can go hand in hand to create better futures for all.

Oro Station has signed agreements with many electric vehicle and hydrogen engineering companies that will play a crucial role in the development of alternative fuels, and driving sustainability for Ontario’s automotive future from their new location in Oro-Medonte.
