Prince George hit with a Snowfall Warning from Environment Canada

Prince George is still able to hold on to old man winter.

The snowfall warning for the capital’s northern part remains in effect. Up to 15 centimetres of snow could fall by the close of today (Tuesday).

However, Environment Canada Meteorologist, Derek Lee doesn’t expect the snow to last long.

“As we head into mid-week, we are going to start to see temperatures returning back to our seasonal average, and by Saturday and Sunday it looks the temperatures will be in the mid-teens here so we are definitely heading back into a normal trend.”

Drive BC reports several slippery sections on Highways 16 & 97.

Today’s high temperature is expected to be at least two degrees (Tuesday).

Temperatures could reach 15 degrees on Sunday.

Slow down and allow yourself more time to reach your destination.

That’s the message from Prince George RCMP this morning (Tuesday 19th April) after Environment Canada issued aSnowfall WarningP.G. The area.

Expect heavy snow accumulations up to 15 cm throughout the day.

This afternoon, isolated flurries could replace the steady snow.

Drive BC reports that there are slippery sections on Highways 16 & 97.

Sometimes heavy snowfall can cause sudden decreases in visibility.
