Doha: Qatar Chemical Company Ltd. (Q-Chem), participated in the Waste-Free Environment campaign, (WFE), on March 10 at Al Wakra Family Beach.
WFE was launched by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association. It is a global campaign to protect the environment that is held annually in the region and around the world. This initiative involves many stakeholders, including government agencies and educational institutions.
WFE promotes the 3Rs concept: Reduce Reuse, Recycle, and move towards the circular economy concept. It encourages a more responsible approach to waste disposal and the need for communities to respond to environmental problems. It aims to educate the public on the benefits of sustainability and to increase awareness among corporate and public alike about the amount of waste disposed in the Gulf.
More than 700 volunteers came from different organizations and educational institutions to take part in the event. Q-Chem is committed towards the sustainable preservation and promotion of awareness in the community. Q-Chem is committed to the sustainable preservation of the local environment through WFE and other environmental initiatives. It collaborates with stakeholders to find solutions and supports local communities in these efforts.
