Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is one of Asia’s leading research and advocacy organization working in the field of environment protection. CSE has established a state of the art laboratory for pollution monitoring and management, as well as food contamination. The laboratory is situated at CSE’s residential campus at Nimli, Alwar, Rajasthan – About 100 km from Delhi, and 60 km from Gurugram

The Laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment for microbiology analysis. It also includes high-performance liquid chromatographs (HPLC), Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Spectrophotometry, ICP-OES, CHNS Anazer, Real-time PCR, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer and Bomb Calorimeter. 

Job profile

The researcher will be working in the Environment Monitoring Laboratory’s pollution monitoring and food contamination unit. The researcher will be responsible for designing cutting-edge research studies, as well as sampling and analysing organic/inorganic pollutants in food samples and environmental samples. 

Experience and qualifications 

FSM & Waste Water Laboratory Division 

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in reputed Microbiology/ Environmental Lab. Experience in microbiology and waste water analysis will be preferred. Candidate must be familiar with the Lab NABL accreditation procedure and laboratory data/information management system.

Qualification – M.Sc / PhD in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Environmental Science. 

Description of the Job: 

Participation in projects regarding Faecal sludge management and waste water treatment

The Environment Monitoring Laboratory has established a laboratory to manage Faecal Sludge/ Septage. This lab is responsible for the characterization of Faecal Sludge/ Septemberage, monitoring decentralized wastewater/faecal-sludge treatment system, cutting-edge research, and documentation on decentralized technologies. They also provide knowledge support on demonstrations in specific areas.

The Researcher will be responsible to coordinate and manage the faecal management laboratory. This job description also includes the management and analysis of faecal waste sludge/ septage samples, as well as the development of protocols for faecal wastewater characterization and performance testing decentralized treatment technologies.  

Salary and designation will reflect experience and qualifications.
