Seven Major Wins for the Environment This Year

ERICD District manager Sara Churgin stated, “ERICD had an amazing and successful year. Without our community, we couldn’t have done it.” All of us, volunteers, local funders as well our dedicated staff, elected officials, residents, non profit partners, farmers, and many others, had a positive impact on conservation this year. We look forward to the next year. The work is not stopping. Please keep an eye out in January for a listening event and a grant opportunity for community gardeners. We are proud to share these seven great wins for 2021. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s successes. Happy Holidays!

Seven big wins for 2021:

Summer at Portsmouth AgInnovation FarmThe farm came to life in the Spring and Summer. We were able to build a seasonal high tunnel and a storage shed, as well as cultivate community plots. The produce was also donated to local food banks. We are grateful to everyone who made it possible. Learn more about the farmwww.easternriconservation.org/aginnovation-farm

Earth MonthRain barrels and plogging, pliking… Oh my! This April was packed with events that will have a positive effect on the environment for many years to come. Keep an eye out for Earth Month 2022! www.easternriconservation.org/earthmonth
