SHARJAH (United Arab Emirates)–(BUSINESS WIREHH Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi is a Supreme Council Member and Ruler in Sharjah. He has stressed that Sharjah’s development projects are carefully planned and executed in a way that preserves the environment of the Central Region. This includes deserts, trees and plants, as well as animals, that the Emirate is keen on conserving. This is achieved in conjunction with development in various sectors such as infrastructure, culture and tourism, heritage, economics, sports, etc.
After inaugurating Sharjah Safari, the Sharjah Ruler made the following remarks. It is the world’s largest safari, outside of Africa. It is located in Al Dhaid’s Bardi reserve, and covers an area 8 kilometers.
Project Dh1 Billion

Major Projects in Central Region
The Sharjah Ruler mentioned that the Emirate was implementing other key projects within the Central Region, including Al Maleha area, Al Dhaid Fort and Al Bathaa Lake. These projects will host rowing competitions as well as ensure water supply throughout the region. The Emirate is also working to develop pastures and other wildlife reserves within the region. He mentioned the Sharjah Sports city, located on Sharjah-Al Dhaid Road. It is being built with world-class infrastructure and facilities to host various competitions such as swimming and rowing.
The Ruler emphasized that Sharjah’s Emirate has been keen to preserve its heritage and values, as well as promoting its authentic identity. He encouraged all Emiratis and Emiratis alike to take responsibility for their nation, take care of their children and families, and be proud of the country and their religion.

Preservation of Heritage is a must
He stressed the importance to preserve the special characteristics, customs, heritage, and identity of Bedouin cultures. He cited Al Wusta TV channel, based out of Al Dhaid in this regard. The channel hosts poets, the elderly, and narrators to celebrate this legacy. The Ruler urged the protection of desert areas and natural habitats against urbanization work through Amiri decrees. Real African experience
The Sharjah Safari is a simulation of an adrenaline-filled trip to the natural African regions. To Africa” is the first stop of this journey. It offers a unique walking experience that allows visitors to discover the wildlife endemic for the eastern coast.
Visitors can explore the Sahel region’s deserts and grasslands, as well as the rich wildlife. The Sharjah Safari will house more than 50,000 animals, including 120 species of African animals. This includes the rare and important black rhino. The Sharjah safari also featured more than 100,000 African Acacia Trees, which include both African and local species.
The Safari gives its visitors an integrated experience that allows them to discover the true colours, flavours, and cultures of Africa and its islands. They will be able to see the flamingos, other birds, Madagascar island, and Aldabra giant tortoise. They can also visit an African village and the traditional farm with Watusi cattle, Zanzibar Village, and many other sections that are filled with hundreds of African animals.
