The Tribune India: Spreading awareness about the environment and cycles – The Tribune India

Yamunanagar, December 24

Officers from the local administration rode a bicycle and visited several Jagadhri locations to finalize sites for two common effluent treatment plant (CETPs) proposals.

The purpose of the cycle ride was to increase awareness among the masses about protecting the environment. According to information, several industrial units in Jagadhri are believed to be dumping untreated effluents directly into a sewer or nullahs, which pollutes the water of Western Jamuna Canal. The local administration has decided to install two CETPs within Jagadhri. DC Parth Gupta, MC Commissioner Yamunanagar–Jagadhri Singh Tomar; Regional Office of Haryana State Pollution Control Board Yamunanagar Nirmal Kumar Kashyap, and other officers visited Gulab Nagar near the solid waste management plants at Kail village. — TNS
