Texas suffered its second loss of season to its head coach Chris Beard’s former program, as Texas TechAnd plenty of its fans came into the Frank Erwin Center and saw the Red Raiders come out with a 61-55 victory. It was a brutal day for the Longhorns’ top-two scorers in Timmy Allen and Marcus Carr, as Carr went scoreless and Allen battled foul trouble and finished with six points and didn’t score for the first 34 minutes of the game.

Texas (19-8,8-6) entered the locker room tied at 28. Half, but the Red Raiders (21-6) won the game. 10-4) lead by 10 points with just under three and a quarter minutes left. The Longhorns would score the game’s next nine points and get to within one with 1:37 remaining, but couldn’t close the deal.

The Longhorns shot a terrible day, going 17 of 60 (28.3% from the field) and 8 of 26 (30.8%) from beyond the arc.

After the game, Allen Beard, Carr and Carr took to the podium and spoke about a difficult day.
