Tomorrow’s 9th International Agri-Environment Exhibition

The Qatar International Agricultural and Environmental Exhibition 2022 starts tomorrow at DECC. There will also be three dedicated markets for local farm produce honey and dates.

The five-day event, which will include the 9th AgriteQ and third EnviroteQ, will open at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. Friday’s opening is at 2pm.

More than 650 international and local companies in the fields of agriculture, food, and animal production, from more than 50 countries, will participate in this exhibition through their commercial offices and embassies in Doha.

According to Yousuf Khalid al Khulaifi, Deputy Head of Organising Committee for the Exhibition, the exhibition will see a lot of participation from local farms.

Al Khulaifi, Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department of the Ministry of Municipality, spoke to Al Rayan TV yesterday and said that more than 80 local farms would showcase their agricultural products at a dedicated market under the exhibition.

He also stated that a separate market will be set up for local honey and will include 25 apiaries. The third market is for local dates. 25 farms will exhibit different versions of dates.

He stated that this year’s activities at the associated conference will be held in person, unlike last year, when they were only possible via virtual mode due to COVID-19.

Al Khulaifi announced that over 50 speakers will participate at the conference. He added that both the public sector and the private sector will be represented at the exhibition.

Al Khulaifi said that institutions such as Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation, Qatar University, Public Works Authority (Ashghal), Qatar University and other universities dealing with agriculture and environmental issues will participate from the public sector.

He stated that a large number local private companies will be showcasing their products and the latest technologies they have used to improve the production.

International participation will also be possible with dedicated pavilions representing countries and international companies that will display the latest technologies in agriculture, environment, and other sectors.

He stated that the exhibition will also see a number of agreements between public and private sector entities in order to support agricultural and environment sectors.

Al Khulaifi stated the exhibition will provide a platform to increase cooperation and exchange experiences between local institutions and companies, promote investment in agriculture projects, and provide access modern technologies and innovations to ensure food safety by increasing agricultural production.
