Police respond to a protest at Banksmeadow in Port Botany SydneyThe south of the city is where a man is suspended on Tuesday morning from a pole over a bridge.
The bridge is the only point from which vehicles can enter and exit Port Botany’s busy Hutchinson terminal.
The Blockade Australia activist has posted a live video of himself suspended over the bridge holding a banner which reads ‘No Borders, No Nations, Stop Australia’s Operation.’

Tuesday is the second consecutive day that climate activists have caused traffic chaos to Sydney
He was joined by another climate activist on the scene.
Sirius Street is currently closed in both directions, as police attempt to remove the protestors.
According to police, ‘Significant delays in traffic are being experienced’ and that traffic diversions have been put in place around airports and ports.
Blockade Australia’s Facebook page featured a live video from Arno, a 21-year old demonstrator who explained the reasons behind his antics.
He says, “I’m effectively blocking all truck traffic from entering and exiting the terminal.”
Later, he added that Australia is already suffering from the climate crisis.
Arno stated that it was time to show solidarity with the most in need.

‘I’m aware that there were a number of other people involved, and we have investigators looking at all the evidence and gathering relevant facts to determine what action they played in this part,’ Superintendent Tim Beattie said.
“Ultimately, we must hold everyone responsible for what happened today.

The latest protests are a day after radical environmentalists demonstrated on the Spit Bridge. This caused chaos for tens and thousands of commuters.
