UNBC panel series on climate and environment begins

Environment Canada says turbulent weather may be over soon

Dr. Art Fredeen is a Professor and Director at the Natural Resources and Environmental Studies Institute. He spoke about the need to change our behavior in order to solve the problem of climate change.

Fredeen pointed out that many people believe technology will help us escape the climate catastrophe humans have created. However, these evolutions won’t be sufficient.

Other panels addressed how Prince George could be more sustainable. One of the topics was urban sprawl.

Panellists agreed that Prince George still has a lot to grow in order to be a sustainable city.

Senior students from UNBC Environmental Studies have presented the series of panels, which will conclude Friday with a session on empowering young climate activists.

You can view the panels in person at UNBC, or online from the Zoom through their website and enjoy the comforts of your own home
