The Environment Agency in the East Midlands is urging communities in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire to be vigilant for flooding issues due to the recent bad weather.
A large number of flood alerts and warnings have been issued and more will be issued when needed in the coming days following recent heavy rain.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said:
Due to the heavy rainfall in recent days, multiple flood warnings and alerts have been issued.
Further flood warnings are likely to be issued today (Monday) and Tuesday on the River Derwent and Trent in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
We have teams out on the ground 24/7 taking preventative action and checking our flood defences.
We advise people to stay away from swollen rivers and not to drive through flood water as just 30cm of flowing water is enough to move your car.
