WALHI calls for a comprehensive policy to address climate change impacts

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesian Forum for the Environment, WALHI, has called for a comprehensive policy that incorporates various aspects of mitigation and adaptation to address the environmental impacts. Climate change.

Dewi Puspa (Head of WALHI’s Division for Environmental Studies and Law) stated that the climate change policy must include both mitigation and adaptation. He was speaking at a discussion about Environmental Review 2022.

The discussion highlighted in particular the dominance disasters caused by the climatic condition in 2021.

Data from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency BNPB showed that Indonesia was affected by 3,116 disasters in 2021. This included 1,310 floods and 815 extreme weather events.

WALHI encouraged the younger generation not to forget about the environment.
