Yoh reveals whether working fully is revealed in a new survey

New Survey from Yoh Reveals Whether Working Fully

PHILADELPHIA. March 16, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE). — The pandemic triggered a seismic shift in the way Americans work. It is not surprising that Americans now prefer to work in-person 100% of the time, or remotely 100%. This data has been available for nearly two years.

New survey data Yoh, a leading international talent and outsourcing company and part of Day & Zimmermann, shows that a majority of Americans would prefer to retain their current working environment with those working 100% remotely preferring to stay remote, those in hybrid working environments preferring the flexibility of in-person and remote work, and those who work 100% in-person* preferring to remain in an in-person setting. The Harris Poll conducted the survey online for Yoh. It was taken from 900 Americans aged 18+ who are employed part-time or full-time.

The survey results were:
Nearly 2x more people prefer to work remotely (62%) than those who prefer to be in a hybrid environment (32%), and 10x more than those who want to work full-time in person (6%)

A majority of those who work in a mixed environment prefer to stay there (54%), while fewer prefer to work completely remote (30%) or in-person (16%).

Data for those who work in person 100% of the time shows that they are slightly more likely (42%) to prefer to stay 100% in-person than those who prefer hybrid (30%) or those who prefer remote environments 100% (28%).

The ability to adapt to the new norm in the workforce has opened many doors for today’s workforce and employers. Workers are able to complete tasks from any location, whether it is at home, in the office or through a hybrid model. Emmett Mcgrath, President of Yoh, stated that these results are a reminder that employers shouldn’t assume that they know what their employees want. Instead they should offer a range of work arrangements that allow workers to choose the best one for them. Yoh works with businesses from all industries to assess their current hiring needs, and to develop a plan and structure that will fill those gaps. This is in an era when highly skilled talent is scarce. We also work closely with candidates to help them find the best job roles, which will suit their specific skills, employment structures, and job responsibilities.

Other findings from the survey include:

  • Employed adults who have children in the home are less likely to want to work remotely than those without children.

It is surprising that those with children at their homes are less likely to want to work from home than those who don’t have children (19% vs. 20%). The majority of households with children prefer hybrid work environments to 100% remote and 100% in person work (20% vs. 9%).

  • 2.5x more women who work in-person 100% of time are more likely to say they would prefer working remotely than men who work in the same way.

Women who work in-person 100% of their time and can work remotely only 7% of the time. Only 2% of men who work in-person 100% of their time and can work remotely feel the same.

  • People with lower household incomes are more likely to work in-person 100% of their time and to prefer to stay that way.

Employed adults who have a household income below $50K are 4x more likely to say that they work in person 100% of their time than those with higher incomes (12% vs. 5% for households with $50K-$74.9K, and 3% for households with $75K-$99.9K, and 5% for households with $100K or more).

*Data reported for those working 100% in-person excludes those who are unable to do their job remotely.

SURVEY METHODOLOGY
