First Lady engages farmers in tree planting, urges environment protection

At the fifth United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), which will be held in Kenya today, Zimbabwe will join other member states.

The UNEA brings together representatives from the 193 UN member states, businesses, civil society, and other stakeholders to discuss policies to address the most pressing environmental issues in the world.

This year’s session will be centered on Strengthening Actions for Nature in order to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals.

The Environmental Management Agency (EMA), in a statement, stated that it will be represented at the meeting by Mangaliso Ndlovu, Minister of Environment, Climate and Tourism, and other senior Government officials.

A special session will be held just after UNEA5-2 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of United Nations Environment Programmes; [email protected]From March 3rd to, 2022

The theme for the [email protected]Event is Strengthening UNEP to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’s environmental dimension.

It marks 50 years ago that the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was held. Widely regarded as the first international meeting on the subject, it is also known by the Stockholm Conference.
