Murat Kurum, the Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister, was positive for COVID-19. However, the country’s top medical official predicts that daily cases of the virus will fall sharply after peaking.

Ruling Justice and development Party spokesperson mer elik posted on Twitter that Kurum had contracted the virus. Health Minister Fahrettin Kokoca said that Kurum is doing well.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Defense Minister Hulusi Akar were also positive earlier this month for the coronavirus.
Previously, Meral Akener (leader, opposition Y (Good) Party) as well as Temel Karamollaolu (chair, Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi) had contracted the virus.
This week, the parliament suspended all work due to an increase in COVID-19-related cases among staff and lawmakers. The mandatory break in parliamentary activity will continue until February 15.
Koca stated that the number of daily infected people is falling fast in the Omicron coronavirus-infected provinces.
The [pandemic]The situation in other provinces is expected to follow the same trend, the health minister tweeted. However, he repeated calls for people not to get vaccinated or to take any necessary protection against the disease.

Since January, the daily number of cases has hovered around the 100,000 mark since the outbreak began.
In a related matter, Mahmut zer, Education Minister, stated that face-to-face education had been suspended in 434 classrooms as of January 10. He vowed to keep schools open. He said that 850,000 classrooms are in the country’s schools, and that those where in-person learning was suspended only represent a small portion.
He said that in-class education will continue in semester two by taking all the measures recommended by the Health Ministry to schools.
