Bread Financial recognizes the importance of environmental stewardship. We also recognize the risks that climate change poses to our business, our associates and our customers.

Today Bread Financial announced that it will donate to The Nature Conservancy as part of its commitment to supporting the conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of our forests. Our partnership will also help to improve the financial wellbeing of low-to moderate income individuals in Appalachia. This region is home to forested mountains, valleys and wetlands that stretch approximately 2,000 miles from Alabama up to Canada. The Nature Conservancy, just like Bread Financial, is closely aligned to United Nations Sustainability Development Goal. This goal aims to reduce climate change and its consequences through actions that lower the average global temperature.

Bread Financial, in addition to supporting The Nature Conservancy, recently updated its Environmental, Social and Governance strategy (ESG). This was to better reflect our business transformation and maximize our impact. The strategy includes the continuation of sustainable practices throughout the business with a more purposeful approach towards those related to mitigating the effects of climate change, improving energy efficiency, and conserving resources. In 2021, we improved the efficiency of buildings and obtained 100% of our electricity from sustainable sources at our Columbus, Ohio headquarters. We aim to expand that achievement across all our facilities. We have also made significant progress in increasing customer acceptance of paperless statements, direct mail, and a push for digital enrollment and delivery.

Bread Financial is a purpose driven financial services company. We are committed to exploring and implementing sustainable business practices throughout our operations and business. Our commitment to environmental management includes measures that reduce waste sent to landfills, cultivate a more sustainable supply chain, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG), emissions.

I urge everyone to find ways that they can help save our planet. Click to calculate your carbon footprint and find out how you can act. HereLearn more about Bread Financials sustainability strategies and initiatives. Here.
