BEIJING, March 8, (Xinhua), — According to a report by the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the crackdown against environmental-related crimes has resulted in good results.
China prosecuted 49,000 people last year for illegal activities that jeopardized the environment, the first decline in eight-years, according to the report submitted Tuesday to a fifth session of the 13th National People’s Congress.
The report highlights illegal dumping of hazardous wastes and smuggling imported trash, among other activities.
