Environment Agency’s vision for managing flood risks and impacts in the UK is 25 years

The UK Environment Agency has released a flood hydrology roadmap that outlines a 25-year vision to help scientists and practitioners better forecast future flood events and increase flood resilience in the UK.

The roadmap, which brings together the views of more than 100 experts from over 50 organizations, will improve hydrological data, models and science which can be used to inform how UK agencies and organizations adapt to flood risk from rivers, surface water, groundwater and reservoirs.

The roadmap covers flood risks changing in England, Wales and Scotland from 2021 to 2046. To ensure that the roadmap is implemented, a Flood Hydrology Roadmap Governance Board was established.
